CHRISTOPHER OWENS

LOhire was founded by Christopher Owens, who began his mortgage career at 19 years old in the high-pressure consumer direct world of Newport Beach, California. As a young producer with little direction, he was thrown into a sharky, transactional environment where the only advice was to grind harder. Without mentorship or clarity, the experience became unsustainable and pushed him to seek a better way to build a career.

That search led him into the self-generated, investor-driven side of origination. Under the mentorship of a seasoned producer in the broker channel, Christopher learned to originate specialized lending products such as DSCR loans, asset-depletion financing, construction and bridge loans, hard money, commercial deals, and more, alongside conventional and government lending. He finally saw what strong leadership, true support, and a sustainable compensation structure looked like.

Those experiences shaped the philosophy behind LOhire. We know firsthand how frustrating it is for loan officers to navigate career moves without unbiased guidance. Producers are often forced to rely on company recruiters who advocate for the lender, not the LO. Very few people in the industry can break down comp plans, pricing, leadership, and operations from a producer-first lens. That is why LOhire exists: to provide the clarity, strategy, and honest guidance that Christopher never had, and that producers truly deserve.
